Match Review Panel Findings - April 27
AFL Barwon advises the Match Review of the weekends games has been completed with the following findings.
Drysdale v Portarlington
At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the second quarter of the Drysdale v Portarlington Senior match Tuesday 25th April.
The incident involved a potential head butt by Drysdale Player #10 Tom Ruggles on Portarlington player #9 Will Foott.
The MRP determined that the vision was inconclusive with no reportable incident identified. No charge was laid.
At the request of Portarlington FNC, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the second quarter of the Drysdale v Portarlington Senior match Tuesday 25th April.
The incident involved a potential high bump by Drysdale Player #10 Tom Ruggles on an unknown Portarlington player.
The MRP determined that the contact was to the shoulder and the free kick paid was appropriate. No charge was laid.
At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the fourth quarter of the Drysdale v Portarlington Senior match Tuesday 25th April.
The incident involved a potential high bump by Drysdale Player #46 Taylor Bonner on Portarlington player #73 Jake Alderding.
The MRP determined that the contact was accidental with the Drysdale player’s intentions and eyes clearly on contacting the football. No charge was laid.
South Barwon v St Joseph’s
At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the first quarter of the South Barwon v St Joseph’s Senior match Tuesday 25th April.
The incident involved potential high contact by South Barwon Player #16 Fraser Fort on StJoseph’s player #6 Oliver Hanneysee
The MRP determined that the contact was incidental. No charge was laid.
Bannockburn v Inverleigh
At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the second quarter of the Bannockburn v Inverleigh Senior match Tuesday 25th April.
The incident involved a potentially dangerous tackle by Inverleigh #11 Jarrod Young on Bannockburn #30 Nick Peters
The MRP determined that the vision was inconclusive. No charge was laid.
Birregurra v Colac Imperials
The MRP viewed the vision of the report laid in the Birregurra v Colac Imperials Senior match and determined the following:
The tackle applied by #15 Birregurra Lachlan Cashman on #1 Colac Imperials Bailey Kahle.
They rated it as:
Intentional – Medium Impact – Contact was high.
The base sanction for this offence is 3 matches.
The player has entered an early guilty plea which resulted in a 2 match suspension to be applied.
Ocean Grove v Geelong Amateur Senior match Saturday 22nd April
At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred during the second quarter of the Ocean Grove v Geelong Amateur Senior match Saturday 22nd April.
The incident involved a potentially dangerous tackle on Ocean Grove Player #11 Max Sutton by Geelong Amateur player #21 Max Hungerford.
The MRP determined that the tackle was not a reportable offence and no charge was laid.
The Notice of Report issued on the day by the field umpire against #19 Geelong Amateur Daniel Grose for a front on bump that was deemed to be rough conduct on #35 Ocean Grove Ryson McHenry in the 3rd quarter has been assessed by the MRP.

Ocean Grove v Geelong Amateur Under 18 match Saturday 22nd April
The Notice of Report issued on the day by the field umpire against #75 Ocean Grove James Barry for a dangerous tackle on #1 Geelong Amateur Daniel Hegyesi in the 3rd quarter has been assessed by the MRP based on the information provided by the reporting umpire.
They incident has been graded as:

The Base sanction for this offence is 3 matches. The player challenged the charge at tribunal, where the charge was sustained. A 3 match suspension was applied.

The incident where a Notice of Report was issued on the day by the field umpire against #12 Werribee Centrals Rhyce Prismall for allegedly striking #7 Bell Post Hill Boe Collins with a forearm in the 2nd quarter was not captured clearly on vision.
Based on the information provided by the reporting umpire, the incident was assessed as:
Intentional – Medium Impact – High Contact.
The Base sanction for this offence is 3 matches.
The player challenged the charge at tribunal, where the charge was sustained. The conduct was downgraded to Careless and the impact assessed as Low. A reprimand was issued to the player.
