ABOUT UMPIRING

Umpiring is a crucial part of the region’s netball competitions, ensuring fair play, upholding the rules, and encouraging a high standard of the game across all levels.

AFL Barwon provide opportunities for individuals of all experience levels, from beginners learning the basics to accredited umpires officiating in senior competitions.

HOW TO BECOME AN UMPIRE?

There are pre-requisites that need to be completed prior to stepping on court with AFL Barwon to umpire.

Please follow the below steps:

1. Online Courses

2. In person Netball Umpiring Training Session

Attend a free face-to-face training session.
Our next session is Tuesday 11 March 4:30pm at Kardinia Park.

3. Complete our Midweek Winter EOI

This provides us with your key contact information, your preferred locations and days of the week.

4. Sign up to Officials HQ

Once all these steps have been completed, then you can sign up to Officials HQ, which is our online rostering and payment system.

Registration link for new season will be available from Friday 6 March.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll just need to log in with your account details to activate your account.
