The Northern Stars Continue to Grow

The Northern Stars have continued their expansion in the Northern Suburbs with Anakie Football Netball Club junior players aligning in 2023.

The concept that has previously included Corio FNC and North Shore FNC, has helped to combine, and grow football participation numbers in the North.

There will be an expansion into the female football space for the Northern Stars in 2023, with the club fielding an Under 16 girls’ team. This will provide girls in the Northern Suburbs an opportunity to play football and provide the community another sporting home.

The Northern Stars are hosting a registration day for all interested players on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm at Windsor Park.

Geelong FNL Round 3 Date Change

St Joseph's FNC and North Shore FNC have agreed to move their Round 3 fixture to be played on Saturday April 1^st at Herne Hill Reserve.

The fixture was originally scheduled for April 29^th, will now kick off the 2023 Blood Toyota Geelong Football Netball season 2 weeks earlier.

The updated match times for both football and netball are as follows.

Football

Blood Toyota Seniors - 1:30pm

Buckley’s Reserves - 11:30am

Netball

Epworth D Grade - 11:30am

E Grade - 10:30am

LBW extends partnership for two more seasons

LBW Business + Wealth Advisors will continue their partnership with AFL Barwon for the next two seasons.

LBW Business + Wealth Advisors have been long term supporters of the AFL Barwon Netball Umpires and will continue this branding on all match day umpire apparel. This includes all winter and summer AFL Barwon Netball competitions.

The partnership will also include the competition naming rights the Bellarine FNL 17 & Under Division 2 netball competition.

AFL Barwon Commercial Partnerships & Communications Manager Sean Atkinson was quoted

“It is fantastic to continue our partnership with LBW for the next two seasons. We are excited with the growth of our Netball umpiring numbers and only expect these to continue to rise and thank LBW for their continued support of this section of the AFL Barwon Community."

AFL Barwon are working on new branded umpire match day apparel and will release the details of this closer to the season start date.
