AFL Barwon are primarily responsible for the strategic planning, development, coaching and training for the continued growth of AFL Football Umpiring in the the Barwon region.
AFL Barwon supply umpires to the Geelong Football Netball League, Bellarine Football Netball League, Geelong & District, Colac & District Football Netball League, as well as all Junior and Female Football competitions.
AFL Barwon uses Hudl for umpire coaching, game analysis, talent identification, club support, and reviewing umpire communication to improve performance and development.

The Community Umpire Training Program is designed to support the development of community umpires across Australia and provide resources to community umpiring clubs who facilitate training.
Unfortunately, umpires can be the target of on-field abuse. But it’s not their job to stop it. The ‘Umpire Respect’ campaign is here to show the impact of umpire bullying and highlight how it’s all of our responsibility to make matchday a supportive and positive environment.
The AFL Integrity Reporting Portal allows members, including umpires, to make a report relating to allegations that may contravene the AFL Rules and Policies. Make a complaint here.
