The Bellarine and Geelong Representative Programs are an opportunity for athletes, coaches and umpires within these competitions to compete at a higher level and provide an opportunity for skills development and talent identification.

St Mary’s Football Netball Club has been crowned 2025 GFNL Senior Football premiers, overcoming a determined St Joseph’s outfit in a tense 13-point Grand Final victory at GMHBA Stadium on Friday.
The 10.8 (68) to 7.13 (55) win capped off a dream day for the Saints, who also secured the Reserves Buckley’s Cup earlier in the afternoon.
St Joseph’s opened strongly, with Paddy De Grandi kicking the first goal and defenders Luke Webb and Joel O’Dwyer controlling play through intercept marking. The Joeys dominated early possession, but inaccuracy hurt them, with Joel Edwards missing a key opportunity.
St Mary’s weathered the early storm, with defenders Ryan Pendlebury and Hamish Bourke key in repelling attacks. Midway through the first quarter, the Saints began to turn the tide, as Sam Bourke and Matthew Copley both hit the scoreboard to give their side a narrow quarter-time lead.

The intensity lifted in the second quarter with both sides applying fierce pressure. St Mary’s began to capitalise, with Bourke adding another and Elijah Wales kicking a spectacular dribbling goal from the pocket to push the margin out to 16 points.
A heated exchange between Copley and O’Dwyer further fired up the contest, but it was St Mary’s who went into halftime with a 14-point lead after St Joseph’s again failed to convert late chances.
Heavy rain hit during halftime, turning the match into a scrap. St Mary’s adapted better to the wet, extending their lead to as much as 27 points midway through the third quarter. Joeys managed a respond through Mitch Chafer, but continued inaccuracy saw them trailing by 20 points at the final change.
St Joseph’s surged in the final term, kicking 3.4 in a last-ditch effort. But every time they drew closer, the Saints responded, showing composure under pressure.
In the end, St Mary’s proved too strong, sealing a well-earned premiership and writing a new chapter in their club’s proud history.

St Marys are the 2025 GFNL Reserves Buckleys Cup premiers after defeating Newtown by 24-points at GMHBA Stadium on Friday.
The grand final began with hot, contested football, both sides finding it tough to hit easy targets in the early minutes.
St Mary’s eventually broke through when Sam Christensen soared for a strong contested mark and converted to give the Saints the opening goal.
Newtown worked hard to respond. Tom Beckworth took a solid contested grab to generate some forward-50 territory, and Alfie Wojcinski—son of club great David—followed up with another strong mark inside 50, but his set shot faded wide.
Christensen continued to be a handful in attack, pulling in a spectacular one-handed mark, while Liam Alsop fired up the Eagles’ faithful with a brilliant goal-saving tackle.
Despite the fierce pressure and a series of crunching tackles around the stoppages, scores remained low.
At the first change St Mary’s held a narrow six-point lead, with Newtown still searching for their opening major.
The tight, contested battle continued after the first break.
Henry Cook launched St Mary’s forward with a strong contested grab and a pinpoint pass to Harry Segrave, who unfortunately pushed a very gettable set shot wide.
The Saints didn’t have to wait long to hit the scoreboard again.
Sam Christensen, continuing his strong first half, calmly slotted a 35-metre set shot to stretch the margin to 13 points.
Newtown finally answered when Michael Condy kicked truly for their first major of the match, a vital goal that steadied the Eagles.
Soon after, Zachary Barnes received a fortuitous mark inside 50 but couldn’t convert, and a series of missed opportunities left the Towners frustrated despite a period of forward dominance.
St Mary’s had their own chances to build a buffer, but Jack Willson was off target with two difficult set shots, keeping the lead to just seven points.
The Eagles capitalised late when Ashton Lovell clunked a strong contested mark and kicked truly, reducing the margin to a single point.
In a half where goals were scarce—just four between the sides—St Mary’s held a slender one-point advantage at the main break, setting up a tense second half.
The second half began with veteran Nelson Browne standing tall in defence, cutting off several early St Mary’s attacks.
But it was the Saints who again landed the first blow. Sam Christensen, continuing his outstanding game, coolly converted from a set shot to notch his third goal and push the lead to double figures.
The home fans roared when captain Sam Hosking soared for a spectacular contested mark. Soon after, Harry Segrave had two chances to widen the gap—missing a snap at the six-minute mark before finally breaking through with a brilliant right-foot snap, stretching the margin to 14 points.
St Mary’s kept coming.
Christensen imposed himself once more with another contested grab inside 50 and slotted his fourth, creating a daunting 20-point buffer.
Their midfield pressure, driven by Ty Williams and Noah Biggs, dictated the term, and when Oliver Flynn snapped cleverly out of a forward-50 stoppage—celebrating in style—the lead ballooned to a game-high 26 points.
Newtown finally found a spark.
A slick overlap passage released Tom Beckworth out the back for a steadying goal, and moments later Zachary Browne drilled a superb 45-metre set shot, slicing the deficit to 20 points and bringing the Eagles’ faithful to life.
St Mary’s pressed late.
Harry Segrave twice marked strongly in the dying minutes but could only add behinds, finishing the quarter with 1.2 to his name.
At the final change the Saints held a 17-point lead, 6.8 (44) to 4.3 (27), with one quarter left to decide the premiership.
St Mary’s struck first to make a Newtown comeback very difficult in the first five minutes of the final quarter.
Off the back of Oliver Flynn producing a crucial holding-the-ball tackle on the centre wing and released Cooper Hosking, who curled through a brilliant banana goal, pushing the lead out to 24 points.
At the nine-minute mark, Saints skipper Hayden McMahon showcased his trademark precision, wheeling onto his left foot and hitting Riley Wagenknecht on the lead inside 50.
Wagenknecht’s set shot just missed, but the minor score still extended the margin to 25 points and kept Newtown under heavy pressure.
The Eagles threw everything at the contest in the closing stages, with Samuel Nitschke provide run and dash, but the St Mary’s defence held firm.
Led by a disciplined back six, the Saints repelled repeated attacks and denied Newtown any chance of a late comeback.
When the final siren sounded, St Mary’s emerged 24-point victor’s in a low-scoring, hard-fought Grand Final, their relentless pressure and composure in key moments proving the difference.

South Barwon are the 2025 Under 18 Division 1 gforce Cup premiers after a dominant 77-point victory against Ocean Grove at GMHBA Stadium on Friday.
The opening term set the tone for a fiercely contested Grand Final. South Barwon’s relentless pressure paid off as they hit the scoreboard four times, highlighted by Zach Stevens’ classy goal from just inside the 50-metre arc.
Up forward, Oscar Denny was a constant threat, creating repeat opportunities for the Swans.
For Ocean Grove, Edward Clark provided a strong aerial presence, clunking several key marks and finishing with a crucial goal to keep the Grubbers in touch.
South Barwon came out firing after the break. A bone-rattling tackle in the centre square by ruckman Tyla Hanscomb sparked a brilliant running goal from Jai Hobson, setting the crowd alight.
Moments later, Jaxon Elzinga lifted the intensity with a fierce tackle in front of the home fans, while Zach Stevens showcased his class again, selling some candy and finishing truly for his second major to stretch the margin to 20 points.
The Swans’ dominance continued when Patrick Shirlow added another, putting Ocean Grove under serious pressure.
The Grubbers struggled to find clean entries inside 50, with captain Taj Hinkley and Damien Hewson repeatedly intercepting and repelling attacks for the Swans.
But the tide began to turn late in the quarter. At the 14-minute mark, Byron Hansford soared for a strong contested grab and converted to cut the margin to 32 points. Just two minutes later, Fraser Stow added another, giving Ocean Grove back-to-back goals for the first time, reducing the deficit to 26 points.
The Grubbers’ faithful roared to life, sensing a possible momentum shift heading into the main break.
South Barwon picked up exactly where they left off.
Samuel Meaney opened the second half with a miraculous dribbling goal from deep in the pocket, sparking immediate celebrations.
Soon after, Patrick Shirlow narrowly missed a chance to add to the lead and push the margin to a game high 37 points.
Ocean Grove briefly steadied as Zach Casamento announced himself with a strong contested mark, but the Swans’ midfield class kept the game on their terms.
Zach Stevens continued to dominate through the middle, highlighted by a pinpoint pass inside 50 to Patrick Shirlow, who slotted his second major to push the margin out to a game-high 39 points midway through the premiership quarter.
The Grubbers tried to inject some life through Lenny Honner’s pace along the wing, but South Barwon’s pressure was relentless.
At the 13-minute mark, Jaxon Elzinga produced one of the moments of the day—winning a crucial two-on-one contest and finishing superbly from outside 50 on his non-preferred foot—lifting the Swans’ lead to 45 points.
Sensing the kill, South Barwon kept coming.
Samuel Meaney capitalised on the momentum, slotting his second and then his third goal with a classy late snap, stretching the margin to a commanding 57 points by three-quarter time.
With South Barwon in full control, Ocean Grove faced a near-impossible task, needing a final-quarter masterclass to turn the tide.
South Barwon put the finishing touches on a dominant performance with another powerful display in the last term.
Jai Hobson opened proceedings perfectly, nailing a tough set shot from the pocket to extend the Swans’ advantage.
Ocean Grove responded almost immediately, a dribbling goal giving the Grubbers’ faithful a brief spark of hope. But any chance of a comeback was quickly extinguished.
At the six-minute mark, Zach Stevens—outstanding all day—slotted his third goal from 35 metres directly in front, celebrating in style as the margin ballooned again.
From there the Swans turned the final quarter into a celebration.
Vice-captain Jai Natonewski joined the scorers with a strong finish, before Ocean Grove’s Zach Casamento delivered a long-range highlight of his own, drilling a massive set shot from outside 50 to briefly reduce the deficit to 64 points.
South Barwon, however, refused to take the foot off the pedal.
Blake Boreham danced past defenders in the goal square for a classy snap, and Damien Hewson followed up with a composed left-foot finish from the forward pocket to delight the Swans’ supporters.
Ocean Grove’s Lenny Honner added a late goal, but it was little more than consolation.
Defender Taj Burgoyne continued to battle bravely for the Grubbers, his spoiling and tackling a rare highlight in a tough afternoon.
Fittingly, ruckman Tyla Hanscomb capped the day with a goal after the final siren as celebrations erupted.
South Barwon proved far too strong in the key moments and across the ground, running out 77-point winners to claim a commanding U18s premiership triumph.
