Caitlyn is passionate for youth engagement and participation in sport. She holds a degree in Youth Work/Sports Management from Victoria University.
During her time studying, she undertook an internship at AFL Barwon where she gained hands on experience in the grassroots sporting sector and developed a deeper understanding of how local sport acts as a powerful tool for connection, inclusion, and community wellbeing. Caitlyn has also been involved in AFL Barwon as a netball competition coordinator working across multiple venues for multiple seasons. Caitlyn has a particular interest in empowering young girls and women to stay in sport and breaking down barriers to participation.
Caitlyn has also spent time working in local council as a youth and community engagement officer where she assisted in the designing and implementing of youth-led initiatives working out of a youth hub.
