The Regional Development Coach (RDC) for Geelong Falcons is a 12-month parental leave cover role focused on developing young footballers aged 15-19 and fostering a supportive program culture.

Responsibilities include planning and managing player pathways, ensuring a positive environment, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have coaching accreditation, experience with youth, strong communication skills, and knowledge of player development.

VACANCY - AFL Barwon Head Umpire Coach & Recruitment and Retention Lead (Colac)

AFL Barwon provides governance and strategy development for Football and Netball across the Barwon region. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team as Head Umpire Coach & Recruitment and Retention Lead in the Colac Region.

AFL Barwon’s vision is to be regarded as an accountable, respectful and progressive sporting organisation that is responsible for the continued growth of Australian Football in the Barwon Region by:

  • Acting collaboratively in the best interests of the game;
  • Providing strong leadership and effective guidance;
  • Supporting participation pathways and development programs.
  • Delivery of the AFL Barwon umpire coaching program, and
  • Development of AFL Barwon (Colac) umpiring support personnel 

The Head Umpire Coach (Colac)is primarily responsible field umpire coaching and development and will oversee the whole Colac Umpire Coaching program in collaboration with the AFL Barwon RDOU in supporting umpire participation pathways and development programs, which promote inclusive, respectful and safe environments. The role will look to ensure Australian Football Umpiring continues to grow and maintain a strong community connection. The focus is field umpire coach delivery and supporting appointed Boundary and Goal Umpire Coaches in their coaching delivery. 

The Recruitment and Retention Lead (Colac)forms part of the Head Umpire Coach role. Working with the AFL Barwon Umpire Department in collaboration with the CDFUA and CDFNL, the role will be the “driver” of implementation key initiatives into the recruitment, retention of umpires as directed by AFL Barwon/AFL Victoria’s strategy programs to ensure the continued growth of umpires in the Colac District Region.

The position is honorarium based.

AFL Barwon provides governance and strategy development for Football and Netball across the Barwon region. We are seeking volunteer(s) to join our team and gain valuable experience in the areas of communications and media. 

The work experience is a voluntary position and will require a minimum of 1 or 2 days per week for a period of 3-6 months, with the potential for extension.
