Geelong West Giants

North Geelong v Anakie

• At the request of the officiating umpires and the Anakie FNC, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred in the 3^rd quarter of the North Geelong v Anakie Senior match 30/7/2022 that involved Samuel Reynolds #38 North Geelong and Adam Miriklis #7 Anakie.

The MRP deemed that Samuel Reynolds having chosen to bump, made high contact with Adam Miriklis in a manner that was reportable for Engaging in Rough Conduct.

A 2 match set penalty has been offered.

Both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 2^nd August to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the sanction will apply as offered.

• They also reviewed vision of a melee that occurred in the 3^rd quarter and determined no reportable offences were identified with no further action required.

St Albans v Lara

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred in the 2^nd quarter of the St Albans v Lara Senior match 30/7/2022 that involved a potentially dangerous tackle by Mitch Day #14 Lara on Ben Miller #30 St Albans.

The MRP deemed that the tackle warranted the free kick that was paid, but was not reportable in this instance.

Geelong Amateur v Torquay

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP sought to review an alleged incident from the 2^nd quarter that resulted in Harry Kershaw #3 Geelong Amateur lying on the ground.

The alleged incident was not captured on vision. No charge was laid.

Werribee Centrals v Geelong West Giants

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP reviewed an incident that occurred in the 3^rd quarter of the Werribee Centrals v Geelong West Giants Senior match 30/7/2022 that involved a potentially dangerous tackle on Blake Quarrier #10 Werribee Centrals.

The MRP deemed that the tackle was not reportable in this instance. No charge was laid.

St Mary’s v Geelong Amateur Senior Female

• The MRP have reviewed vision of an incident that occurred during the 3^rd quarter of the Senior Female Division 1 Qualifying Final St Mary’s v Geelong Amateur where Eliza Williamson #25 Geelong Amateur was reported by the officiating umpire for Engaging in Rough Conduct on Kelsey Houghton #4 St Mary’s.

 The vision supports the charge, and they have determined that the 2 match set penalty is appropriate in this instance.

Geelong Amateur have indicated they wish the charge be heard at Tribunal.

Due to the charged player being unavailable to attend this week due to work commitments, the hearing will be adjourned to next week.

The charged player is unable to play until the matter is heard.

The hearing will be conducted 7.00pm Tuesday 9^th August in the GDFL offices at Buckley’s Entertainment Centre.

• At the request of St Mary’s FNC, the MRP also sought to review an alleged incident from the first quarter that involved Francesca Hocking #24 Geelong Amateur and Emma Allen #22 St Mary’s.

The alleged incident was not captured on vision.

Geelong West Giants v St Albans

At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP have reviewed vision of an incident that occurred during the 4^th quarter of the Geelong West Giants v St Albans Senior match 13^th August 2022 involving a potentially dangerous tackle by Emmanuel Ajang #58 Geelong West Giants on Matthew Graham #13 St Albans.

It was deemed the tackle was not reportable and no charge was laid.

Lara v St Joseph’s

At the request of the officiating umpire, the MRP reviewed vision of a melee that occurred during the 3^rd quarter of the Lara v St Joseph’s Senior match 13^th August 2022.

No reportable incidents were identified and the melee did not warrant any further action.

No charge was laid.

Modewarre v Geelong Amateur

At the request of the officiating umpire, the MRP reviewed vision of an incident that occurred in the 2^nd quarter of the Modewarre v Geelong Amateur Senior Elimination Final 14^th August 2022 involving a late bump by Jack Scarlett #17 Geelong Amateur on Callan Farrell #15 Modewarre. It was deemed that the down the field free kick that was paid was the appropriate action in this instance.

No charge was laid.

Thomson v Inverleigh

At the request of the officiating umpire, the MRP reviewed vision of an incident that occurred during the 4^th quarter of the Thomson v Inverleigh Senior match 13^th August 2022 involving an alleged high bump by Ryan Garrard #17 Inverleigh on Jackson Sheedy #13 Thomson. It was deemed that the bump was fair with contact to Sheedy made when falling back against another opponent caused his injury.

No charge was laid.

Bell Post Hill v Geelong West Giants

At the request of the officiating umpire, the MRP reviewed vision of an incident that occurred in the 2^nd quarter of the Bell Post Hill v Geelong West Giants Senior match 13^th August 2022.

It was deemed that the bump applied by William Ford #17 Bell Post Hill on Michael Leamer #6 Geelong West Giants warranted a free kick and 50 metre penalty, but was not reportable.

No charge was laid.

The MRP also reviewed vision of an incident from the 4^th quarter of the Bell Post Hill v Geelong West Giants Senior match 13^th August 2022 where Zane Jones #20 Bell Post Hill was reported for rough conduct on Samuel Edwards #18 Geelong West Giants. The MRP supported the report and felt that a reprimand was an appropriate sanction to be offered in this instance.

Both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 16^th August to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the sanction will apply as offered.

St Albans v St Mary’s

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an incident that occurred in the first quarter of the St Albans v St Mary’s Senior match on Saturday 25^th June 2022.

It was determined that the tackle laid by Kane Loftus # 38 St Mary’s on Oliver Boothey #43 St Albans was not reportable. No charge was laid in this instance.

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP also viewed vision of an incident that occurred in the fourth quarter of the St Albans v St Mary’s Senior match on Saturday 25^th June 2022.

It was determined that the tackle laid by Bailey Brogden #3 St Albans on Jack Blood #6 St Mary’s was a sling tackle which was deemed dangerous. Bailey Brogden was reported for Engaging in Rough Conduct.

A one week set penalty has been offered.

Geelong West Giants v Leopold

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an incident that occurred in the first quarter of the Geelong West Giants v Leopold Senior match on Sunday 26^th June 2022.

It was determined that Luke Justin #20 Leopold chose to bump making high contact on Nicholas Wood #38 Geelong West Giants in a manner which constituted rough conduct.

A 2 match set penalty has been offered.

North Shore v Lara

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a possible striking incident during the second quarter of the North Shore v Lara Senior match on Saturday 25^th June 2022.

The vision was inconclusive and no charge was laid.

Newcomb v Queenscliff

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an alleged strike by Justin Maher #1 Queenscliff on Brenton Rees #38 Newcomb during the third quarter of the Newcomb v Queenscliff Senior match on Saturday 25^th June 2022. The vision did not show evidence of any strike occurring. No charge was laid.

Anglesea v Modewarre

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a potential strike by Daniel Midolo #52  that occurred in the fourth quarter of the Anglesea v Modewarre Senior match on Saturday 25^th June 2022. The vision did not show evidence of any strike occurring. No charge was laid.

Inverleigh v Winchelsea

At the request of Winchelsea FNC, the MRP viewed vision of a bump applied by # 9 Inverleigh on #10 Winchelsea in the 3^rd quarter of the Inverleigh v Winchelsea match on Saturday 25^th June 2022. The bump was not deemed to be reportable. No charge was laid.

Where Set Penalties have been offered, both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 28^th June  to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the Set Penalty will apply as offered.

Anglesea v Torquay

• At the request of the officiating umpires the MRP viewed vision of a possible striking incident by Dylan Blizzard #50 Anglesea on an unknown Torquay player in the 2^nd quarter of the Anglesea v Torquay Senior match on Saturday 4^th June 2022.

There was no vision of the incident and no charge was laid.

• At the request of the Anglesea FNC the MRP viewed vision for a possible strike by Ben Raidme #5 Torquay on Max Simpson #4 Anglesea in the 3^rd quarter, and two separate alleged striking incidents on Matthew Connell #36 Anglesea in the 4^th quarter of the Anglesea v Torquay Senior match on Saturday 4^th June 2022.

There was no vision of these alleged incidents and no charges were laid.

Colac v South Barwon

• At the request of the officiating umpires the MRP viewed vision of a potentially dangerous tackle by Kody Spokes #3  Colac on Lachlan Noble #22 South Barwon in the 4^th quarter of the Colac v South Barwon Senior match on Saturday 4^th June 2022.

The MRP deemed that the tackle applied wasn’t reportable, but the free kick paid was appropriate and no charge was laid.

East Geelong v Anakie

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a late bump by Ruben Vesikuru #61 East Geelong on Braydan Riddell #17 Anakie during the 4^th quarter of the East Geelong v Anakie senior match on Saturday 4^th June 2022. The MRP deemed the bump was not reportable by nature and no charge was laid.

Drysdale v Portarlington

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a melee that occurred at the end of the 2^nd quarter in the Drysdale v Portarlington Senior match on Saturday 4^th June 2022.

No reportable incidents were detected and the melee wasn’t deemed to warrant the application of any fines in this instance.

Geelong West Giants v North Shore

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a melee that occurred at the end of the first quarter of the Geelong West Giants v North Shore Senior match during the quarter time break. The vision as viewed by the MRP indicated a large number of players from both sides involved, which was unnecessarily prolonged through further actions from both sides.

Both clubs have been issued fines of $650 each of which Geelong West Giants will have $150 suspended for the remainder of the 2022 season for their involvement in the melee.

Having already received a warning in 2022 for involvement in a Melee, North Shore will not have any part of their fine suspended.

• At the request of North Shore FNC, the MRP viewed vision of a potential dangerous tackle that occurred in the 4^th quarter of the Geelong West Giants v North Shore Senior match, by a Geelong West Giants player on #20 from North Shore. The tackle was not deemed to be reportable and no charge was laid.

• At the request of North Shore FNC, the MRP viewed vision of a potential head butt that occurred during the melee at the end of the first quarter of the Geelong West Giants v North Shore senior match during the quarter time break. The MRP deemed that #2 Geelong West Giants Tannar Stone head butted #10 North Shore Patrick Cleary in a manner which was reportable and instigated a continuation of the melee.

Tannar Stone has been offered a 3 match set penalty.

• At the request of Geelong West Giants FNC, the MRP viewed vision of a potential dangerous tackle during the Geelong West Giants v North Shore senior match, by #9 North Shore on #48 Geelong West Giants Philip Moi Moi. The tackle was not deemed to be reportable and no charge was laid

• At the request of Geelong West Giants FNC, the MRP viewed vision of a potential striking incident during the 4^th quarter of the Geelong West Giants v North Shore senior match, by #13 North Shore Bradlee Tregenza on #3 Geelong West Giants Noah Gribble. The MRP deemed that Bradlee Tregenza be reported for striking Noah Gribble.

Bradlee Tregenza has been offered a one match set penalty.

Where reports have been laid, both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 7^th June  to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the Set Penalty will apply as offered.

Anglesea v Newcomb

• At the request of Anglesea FNC the MRP viewed vision of a possible strike in an incident that occurred after the half time siren of the Anglesea v Newcomb Senior match on Saturday 21^st May 2022.

The MRP deemed that whilst it was unnecessary and had the potential to escalate, the action of #33 Newcomb on #50 Anglesea was not deemed reportable.

Torquay v Queenscliff

• At the request of Torquay FNC the MRP viewed vision of potential rough conduct by #8 Queenscliff and a potential striking incident by #1 Queenscliff on #49 Torquay that were alleged to have occurred during a melee at the end of the 2^nd Whilst the official vision did not show the incidents or the melee, unofficial vision provided by Torquay was viewed by the MRP. No striking offences were noted and the action of #8 Queenscliff was not deemed reportable by the MRP.
• Both clubs have been issued fines of $500 of which $250 will be suspended for the remainder of the 2022 season for their respective involvement in the melee.

Geelong West Giants v Bell Post Hill

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a melee that occurred during the 2^nd quarter of the Geelong West Giants v Bell Post Hill senior match. No reportable offences were noted and the Melee was not deemed sufficient for any penalties to be applied in this instance.

St Albans v North Shore

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a melee that occurred during the 1^st quarter of the St Albans v North Shore senior match. No reportable offences were noted and the Melee was not deemed sufficient for any penalties to be applied in this instance.

Newtown & Chilwell v South Barwon

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an incident in the second quarter of the Newtown & Chilwell v South Barwon Senior match on Saturday 21^st May 2022 involving Lachlan Bond #15 Newtown & Chilwell and Todd Smith #28 South Barwon.

It was determined that Lachlan Bond be reported for striking Todd White and have offered a 2 match Set Penalty in this instance.

Inverleigh v Thomson

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an incident that occurred during the 3^rd quarter of the Senior match Inverleigh v Thomson involving #24 Inverleigh and #43 Thomson. The incident was not deemed reportable. No charge laid.

• At the request of Inverleigh FNC, the MRP viewed vision of an incident that occurred during the 3^rd quarter of the Senior match Inverleigh v Thomson involving #7 Thomson Daniel Freeman and  #8 Inverleigh Lachlan Buyel. The MRP have reported Daniel Freeman for Rough Conduct through a dangerous tackle. A 2 match set penalty has been offered.

Bannockburn v North Geelong

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of an incident in the fourth quarter of the Bannockburn v North Geelong Senior match on Saturday 21^st May 2022 involving Brett Harding #19 Bannockburn and Dylan Fisher #18 North Geelong.

It was determined that Brett Harding be reported for carelessly striking Dylan Fisher and have offered a 1 match Set Penalty in this instance.

Geelong Amateur v Ocean Grove

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of 3 separate melees that occurred during and at the end of the 3^rd The vision as viewed by the MRP indicated a large number of players from both sides involved, which was unnecessarily prolonged through further actions from both sides.

Both clubs have been issued fines of $1250 of which $750 will be suspended for the remainder of the 2022 season for their respective involvement in the melee.

Where reports have been laid, both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 24^th May  to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the Set Penalty will apply as offered.

St Mary’s v St Joseph’s

• The MRP viewed vision of a report that was laid by the officiating umpire against #16 St Joseph’s Joel O’Dwyer for Carelessly Striking #22 St Mary’s Darcy Chirgwin. They deemed that the vision reflected the action was not reportable by nature and in consultation with the umpire, the charge has been withdrawn.

Torquay v Queenscliff

• The MRP viewed vision of a report that was laid by the officiating umpires against #15 Queenscliff Lachlan Cohen for Rough Conduct on #25 Torquay Chase Loftus. They deemed that the vision reflected the action was not reportable by nature and in consultation with the umpires, the charge has been withdrawn.

Geelong West Giants v Bell Post Hill

• The MRP viewed vision of a report that was laid by the officiating umpire against #16 Bell Post Hill Dylan Witney for Carelessly Striking #1 Geelong West Giants Blake Dye. They deemed that the vision reflected the action was not reportable by nature and in consultation with the umpire, the charge has been withdrawn.

Queenscliff v Anglesea

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a potentially dangerous tackle by Dylan Blizzard #50 Anglesea on Brod Dawson #24 Queenscliff in the 2^nd quarter of the Queenscliff v Anglesea Senior match on Saturday 28^th May 2022.

The MRP deemed that the tackle applied wasn’t reportable and no charge was laid.

Werribee Centrals v Bannockburn

• At the request of Werribee Centrals FNC, the MRP viewed vision of potential rough conduct by #23 Bannockburn on #32 Werribee Centrals. The MRP deemed the bump was fair and a legitimate shepherd in the circumstances. No charge was laid.

Grovedale v Newtown & Chilwell

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a potentially dangerous tackle by Michael Condy #10 Newtown & Chilwell on Jack Tute #21 Grovedale in the 3^rd quarter of the Grovedale v Newtown & Chilwell Senior match on Saturday 28^th May 2022.

The MRP deemed that the tackle applied wasn’t reportable, but the free kick paid was appropriate and no charge was laid.

South Barwon v St Albans

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of 3 separate melees that occurred during the 3^rd quarter of the South Barwon v St Albans senior match. No reportable offences were noted and the Melees were not deemed sufficient for any penalties to be applied in this instance.

East Geelong v Geelong West Giants

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a potentially dangerous tackle by #43 Joseph Bangura GWG on Jacob Ozolins #16 East Geelong during the 4^th quarter of the East Geelong v Geelong West Giants senior match on Saturday 28^th May 2022. The MRP deemed the tackle was dangerous and reported Joseph Bangura for rough conduct on Jacob Ozolins. A 2 match set penalty has been offered.

Anakie v Bell Post Hill

• At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP viewed vision of a melee in the fourth quarter of the Anakie v Bell Post Hill Senior match on Saturday 28^th May 2022.

It was determined that prior to the melee an incident occurred whereby William Ford #17 Bell Post Hill struck Billy Goodwin #13 Anakie high with his elbow/forearm in a matter which constituted striking.

William Ford has been reported for Intentionally striking Billy Goodwin and has been offered a 2 match Set Penalty in this instance.

• No action was taken regarding the 3 separate melees that were viewed, but both clubs are strongly advised to refrain from future involvement in these to avoid potential sanctions being applied.

Reports

Anakie v Bell Post Hill

• The MRP viewed the incident where Luke Daffy #14 Bell Post Hill was reported for intentionally striking Josh Warrington #34 Bell Post Hill and found there was insufficient evidence from the vision for them to amend the charge as reported on the day.

South Barwon v St Albans

• The MRP viewed the incident where Jackson Carrick #73 South Barwon was reported for rough conduct on Ashton Percy #24 St Albans and found there was insufficient evidence from the vision for them to amend the charge as reported on the day.

Where reports have been laid, both clubs involved have until 10.00am Tuesday 31^st May to request the matter be heard at Tribunal, or the Set Penalty will apply as offered.
